Seat and Back Options
Old Hickory outdoor seating products have several different seat and back options as outlined below:
- DuraCane (DC) is an environmentally-friendly synthetic cane material that is completely colored throughout,
smudge-proof, and resistant to temperature variations. It is extremely durable as evidenced by its UV and weather
resistance. It comes in two standard colors (Natural and Chocolate). It is hand woven in a herringbone pattern.
DuraCane carries a 3-year warranty.
- Diamond DuraCane (DD) Interweaving the two colors of DuraCane (Natural & Chocolate) makes a beautiful diamond pattern. This
type of weave can be done on benches, woven table tops and/or chairs seats and backs.
- DuraWeave (DW) is a synthetic strapping that has a great rustic appearance similar to the Old Hickory Vintage
Weave. DuraWeave is completely colored throughout, smudge-proof, and resistant to temperature variations. It
is hand woven in a herringbone pattern for beauty and comfort. DuraWeave is covered by a 3-year warranty.
- Open Cane (OC) rattan uses the highest quality real rattan available. This rattan is 3/8” wide and is woven in a
open weave pattern. Strong and durable, however, as with all natural products Open Cane is susceptible to cracking or splitting.
- Wood Splint (WS) is 5/8” strips of the inner core of rattan hand woven into a herringbone pattern for superior
durability and comfort. The wood splint is stained a light brown color for rustic appeal. Wood splint is a natural product and is susceptible to cracking and
breaking over time. Proper care and maintenance can enable this product to be used outdoors for many years.
- The Twig Back (TW) option is an option on the Smoky Mountain dining chairs. It consists of three vertical hickory spokes with six accent hickory spokes. It
takes the standard spoke back and makes it more interesting.
- Old Hickory standard spoke back (SP) is four or five vertical hickory saplings. This style has been used
for well over 100 years in the outdoors. The Veranda Dinette chair has a unique bent spoke back that is specific to that chair design.
